It all started with him. Our breeding program that is!

I stumbled upon this incredible horse we call Mozart as a youngster when I was looking for my next Grand Prix horse. I had no intention of having a stallion but as the years passed and he grew up, I knew I could not geld him. His conformation is superb, his movement so balanced and correct – the power that comes from his hind end is simply amazing - he does tempi changes ( ones!!!!) and canter pirouettes in the field just for fun!!!...on a regular basis!! *grin* BUT (and I know - I shouldn’t start a sentence with ‘but’!!) his temperament – now that makes him worth his weight in gold!!! Simply unbelievable – there is no other way to put it. It doesn’t matter what you ask of him – he gives you 150% - or where you put him – he NEVER EVER forgets his manners. If you didn’t look underneath him – you would never know he was a stallion (except of course when he is behind a mare!!*grin*)

When he was three, I started looking into approvals for him. Through no fault of his own, I found out that he is not eligible for presentation at a warmblood licensing. His father was severely injured as a two year old (three vets told the owner to put him down – thank goodness she listened to her vet in Germany and didn’t!!) and thus didn’t go through the approval process. Although I was very disappointed, this did not stop me from my goal to breed with him. It just put it on hold for awhile as I was stuck in the thought that “who would want to breed to an unapproved stallion?” and thus didn’t stand him – as a matter of fact I turned breedings away!! What a fool was I - eh?! I guess that is the process I had to go through... oh if I could only do it over!! *grin* At any rate, he poses absolutely no problem having around as a stallion, and so, for those that can see a good horse for what he is, I offer him for breeding. Besides, he fits all of my criteria in a breeding horse (mare or stallion) – exceptional temperament, great conformation and movement along with proven performance bloodlines. I will continue to use him with my own mares as long as I am able to. Mozart is proving to pass on his incredible temperament, strong conformation and balanced correct movement. It is my hope that time will continue to prove me a wise woman in giving this magnificent stallion an opportunity to show what he can do in the breeding shed. All of his foals are eligible for Canadian Warmblood Auxiliary Book papers.
